Engineer In Training (EIT) Program

MD&A Field Engineers are a key part of a service team that provide a wide variety of services to power generation and industrial customers.

These services include:

In the EIT program, you spend approximately two years working as an “Engineer in Training”. In this position you will work with Senior Field Engineering mentors to learn the skills and common maintenance practices required to perform inspections on both GE® and Westinghouse® steam turbine-generator units. Upon completion of the training, and when appropriate during the training, the employee will work on billable assignments according to their skills and abilities.

Other activities may include:

  • Assisting start-up engineers with system check outs after outages, monitoring turbine operation
  • Assisting with turbine laser alignment
  • Vibration analysis and balancing turbine generators

Travel:
This job requires extensive travel within the US, and on occasion outside the US for short periods. This is a full-time position.

Location: Position is based in Latham, NY but relocation is not required.

 

 

 

Generator Specialist In Training (GSIT) Program

MD&A Generator Specialists are a key part of a service team that provide a wide variety of services to power generation and industrial customers.

These services include:

  • Inspection of generator/exciter components
  • Technical Direction
  • Review of generator inspection data
  • Repair supervision
  • Troubleshooting
  • Testing the generator and connecting components
  • Outage Schedule tracking / manpower tracking
  • Winder supervision
  • Outage Planning/Customer interfacing
  • PO request from home base

In the GSIT program, you spend approximately 12-18 month working as an “Generator Specialist in Training”. In this position you will work with Senior Generator Specialist Engineering mentors to learn the skills and common maintenance practices required to perform inspections on both GE® and Westinghouse® steam turbine/gas -generator units. Upon completion of the training, and when appropriate during the training, the employee will work on billable assignments according to their skills and abilities.

Travel:
This job requires extensive travel within the US, and on occasion outside the US for short periods. This is a full-time position.

Location: Position is based in St. Louis, MO but relocation is not required.

 

Requirements:

  • B.S. Engineering degree.
  • Strong understanding of power generation equipment and related support systems.
  • Person must be able to work in an industrial environment.
  • Successful candidate will be required to pass drug screen and background review

Preferences:

  • Prior experience working on power generation equipment, automobiles and related systems, industrial equipment, or shipboard work experience
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Project Management experience
  • Proficiency in Spanish is a plus
