MD&A provides comprehensive refurbishment & repair of large utility turbine generator stators and fields, including high voltage bushing refurbishment and replacement<\/a> and the complete rewinding of inner liquid-cooled generators.<\/p>\n

Our turbine-generator repair facility centrally located in St. Louis, MO can accommodate generator field rewinds<\/a> of any capacity, including large 4-pole nuclear units.\u00a0 Our generator experts can also perform a stator rewind<\/a> on-site. We aslo have a Generator Field Swap Out Program with fields available to support forced or emergent outage needs.<\/p>\n

Through years of power generation industry experience, our generator repair specialists conduct full-scope electrical testing<\/a>, visual inspections, and specialty tests as per customer requirements.<\/p>\n

Our generator in-situ inspection robot<\/u><\/a>, MD&A’s Air Gap-Bot, can perform full generator inspections without removing the field, saving time and money on the outage.<\/p>\n

MD&A performs in-place stationary shaft machining, which enables repair of damaged journals, collector rings<\/a>, and seal areas without removing turbine and generator rotors from the unit. Repairs are completed while stationary or on turning gear.<\/p>\n

Our\u00a0MD&A patented\u00a0Two-Piece Clip<\/a>\u00a0addresses all known leakage and porosity issues with water-cooled stators.<\/p>\n

MD&A’s experienced generator team can remove and install flexible leads<\/a> in GE\u00ae generators.<\/p>\n

MD&A Turbine and Generator Controls Division has a strategic partnership with Lectrodryer\u00ae to perform installation and commissioning services for their Generator Automated Hydrogen Purge Package<\/a>. This purges the Generator in 40 minutes versus 12 hours. When purchasing the Lectrodryer\u00ae hardware through MD&A, our experts can engineer the modification, remove the existing equipment, install the new equipment and integrate and commission the skid controls.<\/p>\n
